Dr. Goodall is a woman of grace, strength, conviction and pure beauty. Our children were absolutely delighted to present our 2010 Peace Hero Award to this glorious icon. Kids for Peace kids gathered in San Francisco from all over the world to honor Dr. Goodall in a very intimate ceremony led by the children.

Dr. Goodall mesmerized the children as she graciously accepted the Peace Hero trophy and said, “This is the most special award. It will sit very proudly next to some other special things.” She spoke for nearly thirty minutes about her transformative experiences and the importance of peace. A reverent hush was experienced by the kids as they listened and learned. They knew they were in the presence of greatness.

The ceremony ended with Dr. Goodall stating, “There is a special call the chimpanzees make at night tucked in their nests, when they’re happy and all is right in the world.” Dr. Goodall then mimicked the sweet and happy sound of the chimpanzees. The children joyfully answered the call with their own calls of happiness. Everything was definitely “right in the world!”
