When you sign up for a Peaceful Pen Pal, you will see on the online form that you have 2 choices for what kind of pen pal you would like to receive:

If you request a Domestic (US) pen pal, we match your child with someone of the same gender, close to the same age (+/- one year) and from a different US state.

If you request an International or Domestic pen pal, we prioritize the International request. However, because the number of requests that come from inside the US is far greater than the number of requests that come from outside the US, we will match your child with whichever is FIRST AVAILABLE – International or Domestic.
We will follow up via email with the name and address of your new Peaceful Pen Pal friend. The time it takes to find a match for your child will vary based on the age/gender/location of children requesting a pen pal at the time of your request. If two weeks have passed and you haven’t heard from us, please check your SPAM folder. You may follow up with Meg at meg@kidsforpeaceglobal.org to check the status of your match.
As a participant, please understand:

Your child is making a commitment to write to another child; not doing so will result in the disappointment of the other child. If something comes up where your child is no longer able to participate, please email Meg@kidsforpeaceglobal.org so that we may connect your child’s pen pal with another child.

The accuracy with which you fill out the online sign-up form is important. Please double check you have typed the correct parent email address and your complete mailing address into the form so that the letter exchange is possible.
